  1. Hi homeschool friends!

I am one of the CHART archery instructors, and also a member of the CHART Board. We are indeed thrilled to have the honor of being the FIRST homeschool organization in Georgia, (and as of October 2013 the ONLY one) to be approved by the Georgia DNR to participate in NASP (the National Archery in Schools Program.) We feel blessed indeed to have cleared this hurdle, and we hope that other Georgia homeschool organizations will soon join us in meeting the program's requirements and offering NASP archery to their members.

International archery is safe and fun, and a great way for students of varying athletic abilities and ages to participate in a sport. NASP offers the opportunity for students to not only learn archery, but also to compete on the regional, state, national and world levels! Our instructors are trained in Basic Archery Instruction as per the NASP method, by the Georgia DNR. In December, several of our instructors will receive advanced NASP training, bringing even more expertise to our local program.

Our new NASP equipment has just arrived, (bows, arrows, targets, etc.), so it is not necessary to own a bow to participate! We currently have 30 middle school and high students enrolled in archery class. Even more students have expressed interest and we are working to accommodate all who are eligible. We are thankful to the GA DNR and the national organization of NASP for the encouragement and assistance they have given us. The NASP method has been successfully enjoyed by millions of school aged children across the country. How wonderful that Georgia homeschoolers can now be included in their numbers!

Blessings to all (and congratulations to Joy on this new blog!)
