About

Homeschool Connections is a place where homeschoolers of all backgrounds can find information and support. Though primarily addressing needs and opportunities in South Georgia and North Florida, the site publishes articles and ideas that are helpful to homeschoolers everywhere.

The site is run by Joy Slaughter, a homeschooling mother of seven, ages four to thirteen. She was an Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health. She directs Learning Treehouse, Adventure Pages, both Science and History Fairs, and the Summer Intensives (2014: Economics and Marine Biology). She serves the community as the Explorer Unit Leader of American Heritage Girls Troop FL1230.

In addition, Joy runs Wiregrass Walks—Historic Thomasville, a walking tour company; The Red Ink Society, a copy editing firm; and is a published author.

She likes tea and fuzzy socks.
