  1. You're not even a member of CHART. What gives you the right to sing the attributes of one of its affiliates when you're not even involved?

    1. This blog is a springboard for all types of homeschool activities. Joy Slaughter is using the blog as a tool to help local homeschoolers make the best of what they can through their home study program. It's always best to know what you're actually talking about before opening your mouth. Or in this case, typing a comment.

    2. No, I am not a member of CHART. The purpose of Homeschool Connections is to bring people together, to share activities and accomplishments, regardless of affiliation, creed, background, government status, or financial set-up. My hope is that I will encourage homeschoolers to get to know one another, to grow in their relationships with each other, and support each other.

  2. Hi Homeschool Friends,

I AM a member of CHART. Yesterday some of the members of CHART's Rotary Interact Club joined with other students in Thomas County to participate in SHOTC volunteer day (Students Hands on Thomas County). Their assignment took them to Miss Kitty's Feline Sanctuary. They moved and organized supplies, cleaned shelves, mopped floors, and yes, even got to play with the kitties!

CHART's Rotary Interact Club is in its 4th year. It affords our teens the opportunity to work together in a club setting to volunteer in the community. It's just another great reason to join CHART, (Christian Homeschool Association of Regional Thomasville). As the mother of a homeschool teen I can attest to the benefits of a homeschool support group that offers social opportunities for all ages. (My son is the one in front cheesing for the camera!) CHART has existed, in one form or another, for 30 years! It is a strong testament to the wisdom and experience that can be found in the Thomasville homeschool community.

Thanks Joy, for featuring the CHART Interact Club in your inaugural post under your new homeschool blog!

    Blessings to all,
    Linda Simms
